Hi, I'm Brette-Ashley—most people know me as BA. I was born and raised in western New York and am originally from Bergen, where much of my family still lives. My passion for photography and marketing began early, leading me to earn both my undergraduate and graduate degrees in marketing from Roberts Wesleyan University.

 

I started my photography journey in 2009, and what began with a few family sessions quickly turned into a full dive into the world of weddings. It’s been such an amazing experience getting to work with so many incredible couples and capturing their love stories over the years. After starting a family of my own, I found myself naturally drawn back to portraits, and I’ve loved rediscovering that side of photography. These days, I also work in the corporate world, where I still get to bring my camera along and create images that help businesses tell their stories, too.

 

In 2019, after a year-long renovation, I opened my own studio in New York—a dream realized. That same year, I became pregnant with my daughter Effie, and when my husband received a job offer in Florida, our family moved south. Despite the move, our Bergen building remains close to our hearts, and we visit often. I always dreamed of creating a business in this special space, and this year, that dream became a reality. Originally designed as a photography studio with high ceilings, original exposed brick, and bright white walls, we recently added a beautiful mural and designed the space with brides in mind. I wanted to create a place where a bride could relax and get ready for her wedding day surrounded by loved ones. It’s an honor to share this thoughtfully curated studio with you!

 

Family means everything to me, and I truly cherish spending time with my husband, our two daughters, and our extended family. Fun fact: Venue 1880 is managed by my amazing sister-in-law, Heather—a true boss babe and powerhouse! She’ll be the one you meet on your tour or on your wedding day, and you’re in the best hands. I’m also grateful for a wonderful circle of girlfriends who fill my life with joy and support. Outside of work, I love gardening, getting lost in a good book (or several), and making time for ocean adventures—especially swimming out deep in search of sand dollars. I’m passionate about movies, music, and game nights with loved ones. My husband, Phil, and I have been married for 17 years, and I still remember every emotion from our own wedding day—the excitement, the nerves, the laughter, and the happy tears. It would be an honor to be a part of your special day!
